Role Summary

The Fire Sprinkler Field Superintendent role is responsible for managing our team of experienced foreman and upcoming apprentices ensuring that they have the tools and training needed to execute the work. In this role, you will be daily interacting with your fellow Project Managers and the Department Manager to ensure the work gets done on time and to DFS standards. You not only see through projects to completion but focus on the development of your field team in the process.

How this role contributes...

  1. ●  Oversee field crews and their installation projects

  2. ●  Manage and assign manpower for projects, looking for opportunities to maximize production

  3. ●  Provide feedback to designers with installation issues and for future designs

  4. ●  Assist with surveying projects for design needs

  5. ●  Attend required project meetings with General Contractors

  6. ●  Represent DFS at fire marshal acceptance tests as needed

  7. ●  Attend and provide project information at weekly construction meetings

  8. ●  Collaborate with department Project Managers

  9. ●  Update and provide material lists for changes as needed

  10. ●  Ensure completion of projects and final punch list

  11. ●  Leads and sets the standard for a safe work environment (including safety initiatives, driving, etc)

  12. ●  Ensure timely and accurate Incident and accident reporting

  13. ●  Complete JSAs, toolbox talks, audit forms, etc. in a timely manner

  14. ●  Be present for regular job site visits/observations

  15. ●  Communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, clients and officials

  16. ●  Facilitates training at all levels of team member experience

  17. ●  Ensure accurate timesheet management

  18. ●  Manage and ensure completion of all required documentation (i.e. scope sheet, budget, material list, design/sketch, etc)

  19. ●  Manage inventory and optimize material purchasing

  20. ●  Support and ensure team adherence to company procedures (purchase orders, change orders, accounting processes, etc)

  21. ●  Submit timely and complete work orders with required documentation and details

  22. ●  Update status reports on jobs (materials, equipment rentals, subcontractors, etc)

  23. ●  Other duties as assigned

Who we are looking for...

  1. ●  10+ years of experience installing and servicing fire suppression systems

  2. ●  4+ years of management experience

  3. ●  AR and/or OK Fitters License a plus

  4. ●  A leader who wants to invest in their team and looks out for their well being

  5. ●  Committed to quality craftsmanship in the work they oversee

  6. ●  Attention to detail and thorough

  7. ●  Thoughtful in their words and actions

  8. ●  Attentive to the needs of their team and the customer

  9. ●  Eager to share knowledge with coworkers and apprentices

  10. ●  Knowledge of regulations and fire protection codes

  11. ●  Valid driver’s license with good driving record
